For the avid bird lover, eager to gain volunteer and bird-handling experience in a sanctuary setting. After completing the training course, Junior Docents volunteer throughout the year, helping to educate visitors about parrots and foster interactions with them.
A week-long course designed for individuals (ages 13-17) interested in working and/or volunteering in a sanctuary setting. Teens will learn all about captive and wild parrots, develop bird-handling skills, and gain experience educating the public about these beautiful creatures. After completion of the program, they may then continue volunteering with Free Flight as their schedule allows.
This will be the first of two training seminars required of our new Senior Docents before they may begin volunteering at Free Flight.
Date for Part II to be announced.
