Thanks to our new friends at Traci's Paws Inc., we were able to raise over $1000 for the Free Flight flock at a special birthday celebration for Obi the Cockatoo on September 9th! Traci's Paws is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving animals’ lives, by assisting animal rescue groups to increase their adoption success rates and by providing educational services to the public. After discovering us earlier this year, founder Traci Wilkerson Steckel felt inspired by the parrots living here at Free Flight and wanted to host a special event just for us.
So, we chose to celebrate our eldest and wisest flock member, Obi, a 68 year old umbrella cockatoo who came to live with us in 2015. Our mutual goal in hosting this event was not only to fundraise to help us in our mission for exotic birds, but to create more awareness for the complexity and longevity of companion parrots. Thanks to Traci's Paws, we did all that, and more! Guests, staff and volunteers had a wonderful time toasting to Obi and enjoying delicious treats, all in support of our mission to shelter, nurture and re-socialize exotic birds.

We would like to thank the generous sponsors who helped Traci's Paws throw this terrific party for us - Sweet Cakes Cookie Company, Hubert's Lemonade, Lick'er Lips Lip Balm, and Good Boy Fudge Company.
